In the heart of the famous Angus Glens lies a hidden gem, Cortachy Castle, currently home to the Earl and Countess of Airlie and dating back from the 16th Century, provides a unique and stunning backdrop to your wedding day whilst its gardens and grounds offer a wonderful photographic opportunity for you and your guests to enjoy for many years to come.

This amazing fairytale castle with its soaring turrets and remarkable gardens is a beautiful exclusive wedding location which can offer a variety of opportunities as a venue for your special day.  Situated within the grounds of the Castle, is the Glens Church and this historic old building offers accommodation for up to 150 guests but also lends itself to smaller more intimate weddings and provides some of the best scenery in Scotland.  For more information on the Glens Church contact www.gkopc.co.uk.

At the conclusion of your ceremony  the wedding party passes through the laburnum arch, a gift from Lord and Lady Airlie's children to mark their parents Golden Wedding Anniversary in 2002 and which flowers in late spring/summer.   A short walk alongside the beautiful River South Esk brings you to Cortachy Castle.

Cortachy  boasts many beautiful locations and settings, both indoors and outdoors as an alternative for your wedding ceremony – whether religious or civil. The castle and surrounding grounds will provide the most stunning backdrops for your wedding photographs.

Smaller more intimate wedding receptions of up to 70 can be accommodated in the Castle ballroom itself, whilst  weddings for larger parties by means of a marquee on the Castle lawn.  Please note that both the Castle ballroom and the Castle lawn are available to hire on a venue only basis, arrangements must be made outwith for caterer, marquee hire etc.
